Died. Tiffney. Drowned at Thorold by Anonymous

Listen to Peter Murray read Died. Tiffney.

Photo taken just weeks before he drowned

“Drowned, at Thorold, on the 20th June, 1912, William Wallace, or Tiffney, beloved adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Tiffney, Jr., Ormond Street, Thorold.”

He was our only little son,
   Our heart’s delight and joy;
But God has called him to Himself,
   Our own dear darling boy.
We miss him most, that
   Loved him best.

Accompanying Died. Tiffney. was a memorial card with the following poem on it.

Listen to Peter Murray read the memorial card.

We do not know the pain he bore,
…..We did not see him die ;
We only know he passed away
…..And never said good-bye.

Day by day we sadly miss him.
…..Words would fail our loss to tell ;
Our loss is great, but Thine is gain,
…..In Heaven we hope to meet again.

Short was thy life, my darling son,
…..But peaceful is thy rest ;
And grandma missed you most of all,
…..Because she loved you best.
