  1. I am unable to make the presentation this Thursday due to another committment. But I am wondering if Mr Hughes could answer this question:
Is it possible to overlay the original maps of the Welland Canal and the early settlement of Grantham Township to scale on current maps?
I ask this as I am trying to locate one or two physical places in St Catharines in support of research I am working on…During last month’s talk on “Cholera Reaches St Catharines-1832” there was an overhead showing the early canal and noted Dolson’s Tavern. I suspect this tavern was owned by Samuel G. Dolson, Past Master and Secretary of St George’s Lodge, A.F. & A.M. #15 G.R.C.
St George’s was meeting at Dolson’s Tavern as late as the 1860’s as near as I can tell.
